Polymarket Insider Arrested After Bets on Maduro
Polymarket Insider Arrested After Bets on Maduro
Former U.S. president Donald Trump said a Venezuelan insider who traded on information about Nicolás Maduro has been arrested and jailed.
Arrest and related statements
Trump stated that the individual accused of using privileged information to place market bets is now in custody and held in prison.
The announcement attributed the arrest to actions taken after observed trading patterns and public reporting linked to specific prediction markets.
Wallet activity on Polymarket
According to Lookonchain, two of three Polymarket wallets that earlier profited from bets on Maduro's departure have been inactive for eleven days.
The third wallet, identified as SBet365, remains active and continued placing positions after the others went silent.
Two days ago, SBet365 opened a new trade predicting the departure of Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei before 31 January, according to on-chain monitoring.
Observers note that the pattern of inactivity in two wallets and continued operations in the third raises questions about coordination, timing and information flow.
Authorities and market monitors did not provide additional confirmation of the insider’s identity or details of the alleged information sources.
