At a “first political crypto forum” in Moscow, LDPR said it is considering launching a party-linked cryptocurrency dedicated to Vladimir Zhirinovsky. Bits.media reported that the party wants to position itself as the first political force in Russia to issue its own crypto asset.

Working names and stated purpose

According to the party’s representatives, several draft names are being discussed for the planned token, while the concept is still at an early stage.

LDPR adviser Dmitry Shatunov described the initiative as an attempt to demonstrate the accessibility of the technology to ordinary users.

The party did not provide technical details on issuance, distribution, or compliance mechanics during the forum discussion, according to the report.

Reaction from the family and a fake token

Anastasia Botsan-Kharchenko, Zhirinovsky’s daughter, questioned the idea and suggested her father would likely have viewed it critically.

«He most likely would not have approved of such an initiative.»

She also characterized the direction as risky for those promoting it, using a cautionary framing in her remarks.

Soon after the public discussion, unknown actors registered a separate token named “Zhirinovsky” that LDPR said is unrelated to its plans and has already disappeared from decentralized exchanges.
